While the fans were gearing up for an open bus parade of Royal Challengers Bengaluru, it got cancelled due to the traffic congestion on the streets of Bangalore. The victory celebration has been curtailed to pass holders' attendance in RCB's home ground, the Chinnaswamy Stadium. The decision came just hours before the celebration due to severe traffic congestion across Bengaluru’s central zones. What was supposed to be a grand roadshow celebrating RCB’s first-ever IPL title win turned into a logistical challenge for the city’s traffic police. With key stretches already gridlocked by regular weekday movement and additional crowd buildup expected, the city administration requested the franchise to avoid further disruption. Safety and public convenience took priority. Fans, though disappointed, were urged to cooperate. The Bengaluru Police cited concerns over emergency access and congestion management around Vidhana Soudha and MG Road, two key points in the originally planned route. The administration emphasized that public enthusiasm must be matched by civic responsibility. The team obliged, choosing to shift the celebration indoors. Entry will be allowed only to pass holders. The event will feature the full squad, support staff, and senior management. Not only that, the state police has advised the fans to avail themselves of public transport, especially the metro. This is mostly to avoid cars stacking in the stadium's parking lot and also to keep the roads clean of unnecessary chaos during the office hours. The central business district (CBD) is also expected to be heavily crowded, and residents have been advised to avoid the area between 3 PM and 8 PM. Despite the format change, the mood remains festive. Fireworks, music, and tributes to long-time fans are still on the cards. RCB's 18-year wait ends in style The original plan was a grand parade starting from Vidhana Soudha at 3:30 PM, leading into the heart of RCB’s cricketing fortress. That plan had fans buzzing across social media. RCB’s six-run win over Punjab Kings in the final at Ahmedabad ended a title drought that stretched back to the inception of the IPL. Speaking about the match, it was Krunal Pandya who single-handedly destroyed the base of Punjab Kings' batting. Shashank Singh’s late fight for Punjab nearly spoiled the party, but RCB held firm, defeating the team by 6 wickets. After three lost finals, Bengaluru finally has its champions—and the city can’t wait to celebrate, traffic or not.
