The Indian spinner all rounder has reportedly breached the BCCI Standard Operating System by traveling alone on the second day of the Birmingham Test. Before the day's play, Jadeja travelled alone to Edgbaston, earlier than his team. Later Jadeja clarified that he wanted to get used to the pitch, as it has a tendency to change anytime. Speaking about his move, Jads said, “Somewhere I felt that I should go and bat extra because the ball was still new. I felt if I can see the new ball off, it would become easy for the rest of the innings. Luckily I could bat till lunch, and then Washi[ngton Sundar] also batted well with Shubman. The more you bat in England, the better it is because you never feel you are set in England. At any time a ball can swing and take your edge or bowl you.” Read also: Shubman Gill's 269 Sparks Siraj's Bow, Breaks Kohli’s Record Will BCCI punish Ravindra Jadeja? Notably, the Board of Cricket Control for India issue a 10-point disciplinary chart where it was said that no player is allowed to travel alone, and is bound to travel with the team in the team bus. In that case, Jadeja technically breached the protocol. However, BCCI is not likely to punish him, as JAdeja did it for the team's cause. Ravindra Jadeja is one of the key contributors for India, however, missed his well deserved century by just 11 runs. On day 1, Jadeja was batting on 41, and added 49 more runs, making a hundred-plus partnership with captain Shubman Gill before getting out. Speaking about his innings, Jads said, “When you contribute with the bat for the team, it feels great. When you are playing outside India, and the team needs you more, it feels good." He added, “From 210 for 5 to put together a big partnership to take the team forward, it is a challenge. I took it as a challenge. If you can stick around with the captain and put together a big partnership, it gives you confidence as a cricketer and a batter that in the coming matches also you can contribute.” India had day 2 in their favor, posting 587 runs on the board and taking three wickets from England, while the host managed 77 runs.
