Former Sri Lanka captain Arjuna Ranatunga slams unnecessary spotlight on India's Virat Kohli. Be it with stardom or his recent struggles regarding his forms. He then returned to the Ranji Trophy but couldn't make a mark. The Railways bowler Himanshu Sangwan toppled Kohli's stumps, dismissing him for 6 runs. In the ODI series against England, a knee swelling issue sidelined him from the first ODI at Nagpur. But his return in the second ODI at Cuttack wasn't fruitful as another nick of the bat dismissed him at 5! When the predictions and assumptions started ruling the air, Ranatunga made a call letting Kohli decide about his future. Speaking to the Telegraph, he said, “For a player like Kohli who has scored so much of runs, I feel it’s best if that’s left to him. It’s a call that Kohli needs to take, so let him take it. Why always have the spotlight on him? It’s quite unnecessary I feel. It’s his decision, so let him take that."
