For the second time, the players of Durbar Rajshahi are facing frustration as their cheques for payments bounce once again, leaving them in uncertainty. Despite the presence of team owner Shafiq Rahman in the country, all cheques issued by the franchise have failed to clear, with players notified by their banks that payments will not be processed. The issue first arose when cheques were issued while Rahman was abroad, but this time, the problem persists with no resolution in sight. Speaking candidly about the issue, Rajshahi captain Taskin Ahmed expressed the team's frustration after their recent victory over the Rangpur Riders. In the post-match conference, he jokingly said, "Hopefully, the cheques don't bounce like the Mirpur pitch." However, before the match, the players had been struggling with payment delays. Foreign players had threatened to sit out the game unless their dues were cleared, while domestic players hesitated to play. Ultimately, domestic players agreed after receiving cheques for 25% of their payments, while foreign players refused to play, demanding immediate cash. By Tuesday evening, no player had received their full payment, and the bouncing cheques added insult to injury. One anonymous player revealed, "We received 25% of our payment after much struggle last time. This time, we felt relieved when we got the cheques. But after depositing them, we're back to the same situation. Earlier, at least only some of the cheques bounced because not everyone had deposited theirs. This time, all of us who submitted cheques found they had bounced. No one got any money. The bank texted us saying the payment won't go through. After seeing that message, we were speechless. There's nothing more to say." The situation has left players questioning their future with the franchise. With daily allowances still pending, one player vented, "This is our livelihood. They're not paying our salaries, and they owed us 18 days of allowances. From that, they've only paid four days. This is unacceptable. They are businessmen who keep track of their own finances, but why this treatment towards us? We're doing our job on the field, but they aren't fulfilling their responsibilities. How many times will they break their promises? Only God knows where this will end." BCB directors have promised to address the situation, but players remain skeptical, and the franchise's manager, Mehrab Hossain Opi, confirmed that he is unaware of the latest cheque issue.
