Bihar's Vaibhav Suryavanshi wrote history for himself on Monday when Rajasthan Royals signed him for ₹1.1 crores in the IPL 2025 Mega Auction that held in Jeddah. At just 13 years and 243 days, Suryavanshi became the youngest player to be signed in IPL history. A fierce battle between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals concluded as Rajasthan Royals outbid the young star. Suryavanshi has been in the limelight recently because of his record-breaking performances. He made a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy debut on Saturday, opening for Bihar against Rajasthan in Rajkot. Suryavanshi was able to manage only 13 runs off six balls, but his aggressive knock had two sixes against left-arm pacer Aniket Choudhary. Previously, the young cricketer had made waves when he hit a magnificent hundred in a Youth Test for India Under-19 against Australia U-19 at Chennai. The 13-year-old- and 288-day-old Suryavanshi thus became the youngest ever to have batted an international century. His 104 from just 62 balls was a hundred managed in a mere 58 deliveries, thus being the fastest in an Indian youth test and the second-fastest anywhere in the world. 13-years-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi will play for RR!🤯 pic.twitter.com/EOuNjGEvXK — CricketGully (@thecricketgully) November 25, 2024 Also Read | IPL 2025: Full Squad List of All 10 Teams After Mega Auction Earlier this year, Vaibhav's cricket journey began attracting attention for grabbing a debut Bihar Ranji Trophy appearance at the tender age of 12 years and became one among the youngest players of India's premier First-Class tournament. Vaibhav's emergence has been ignited by his father, Sanjeev Suryavanshi, whose cricketing aspirations were unfulfilled long ago. Sanjeev, who used to work as a bouncer, at a Sulabh toilet, and at the port of Mumbai, always dreamt that one of his kids would go on to succeed in cricket. Today, Vaibhav is it; fulfilling all those hopes of his father through his spectacular performances.
