Rajasthan Royals (RR) have completed their post-IPL 2025 coaching revamp by sending fielding coach Dishant Yagnik on his way. This follows Rahul Dravid's departure as head coach, and the team also parted ways with CEO Jake Lush McCrum, who had been part of the franchise since 2017. Yagnik signed up with RR prior to their comeback in the IPL in 2018. He has a special affinity with the franchise, having represented the Royals in 25 IPL games between 2011 and 2014. The left-handed batter had a domestic career spanning 13 years, playing 50 first-class, 41 List A, and 56 T20 games. Even though Yagnik has left, Shane Bond and Vikram Rathour will remain with the Royals. Rathour, who previously worked with Dravid in the Indian national team, is the batting coach, while Bond is still the team bowling coach. Dravid has an extended history with RR, having played for the team from 2011 to 2013 and coached them during IPL 2014 and 2015. His second stint lasted only a season, in which RR finished ninth on the points table with four wins from 14 matches. The backroom shifts in the franchise come amidst uncertainty about captain Sanju Samson. There were reports that Samson had asked to be released before the next IPL auction. It is not clear if he still plans on doing so due to the current flux in the management and coaching staff. Kumar Sangakkara is said to take over as head coach from Dravid. Sangakkara, who played under Dravid during IPL 2025, has a previous association with RR, having led the team's coaching group prior to Dravid's comeback and IPL 2021. His joining is said to provide stability and fresh direction for the team ahead of the upcoming season of IPL. The current revamp signals RR's efforts to overhaul their coaching and management staff after a dismal IPL 2025 season and prepare for a better performance in subsequent campaigns.
