The Rajasthan Royals are making a massive restructuring of the coaching department after their dismal IPL 2025 season, during which the Jaipur franchise was placed ninth in the standings. Following the abrupt exits of head coach Rahul Dravid and CEO Jake Lush McCrum, the team has now severed ties with two other important support staff. Cricbuzz has established that spin-bowling coach Sairaj Bahutule and fielding coach Dishant Yagnik have parted ways with Rajasthan Royals. Bahutule was appointed at the franchise just one year ago, after spending time at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. Yagnik, who started his Royals career as a player, recently dropped a hint of his departure with a mysterious social media message. There are also reports that strength and conditioning coach Varun Ghosh has been let go. Kumar Sangakkara to Lead the New Coaching Panel After Rahul Dravid's departure, Kumar Sangakkara is likely to become the head coach of Rajasthan Royals. Although the team has not officially announced the same, sources report that Sangakkara has already begun taking important decisions with lead owner Manoj Badale. It is on the cards that Sangakkara will bring in his own coaching staff to the Royals. Trevor Penney, who has worked with Rajasthan Royals before, could make a comeback, while Vikram Rathour, ex-India batting coach, stays with the team and is said to be working in close association with Sangakkara. Bowling coach Shane Bond keeps his position in the side for the time being. Sanju Samson's Future Remains Uncertain In the midst of the staff reshuffle, there remains doubt over the fate of captain Sanju Samson, who has officially asked the franchise to release or trade him. The issue remains unresolved so far, with fans and cricket experts wondering if Samson will be retained or placed under the hammer for the next auction. The Royals' administration seems hell-bent on a total overhaul in order to recover from a below-par campaign. The team undergoing changes in its coaching personnel coupled with some major decisions being awaited regarding retaining players, the franchise is looking to start IPL 2026 with a better and stronger setup.
