Afghanistan cricketer Rahmat Shah will miss the series-clinching third ODI against Bangladesh following a calf injury he suffered while playing in the second ODI. Rahmat retired hurt after getting injured and attempted a heroic effort to come back to bat once Afghanistan lost their ninth wicket. He could, however, manage only one ball before being forced to leave the field. "He (Rahmat) unfortunately succumbed to his injury so he is out now. We will do all the right things in terms of imaging and stuff tomorrow. He is going to be out for some time, I think," the physio confirmed, further stating that Rahmat is likely to miss the third ODI on October 14 at Abu Dhabi. He also scored an essential half-century in the first ODI, displaying his value to the Afghan batting attack. In the second ODI, spectators were cheering as Rahmat tried to bat, but his innings was terminated when Rishad Hossain bowled a googly which hit him in the stomach, leading him to retire straight away. Rahmat's injury is a timely blow to Afghanistan at the moment, as they seek to conclude the series against Bangladesh. His absence in the third ODI will most definitely hurt the team's batting depth.
