Since his arrival in the Pakistan Super League 2026 just a few days ago, Glenn Maxwell has certainly made an impression on Marnus Labuschagne’s Hyderabad Kingsmen. Labuschagne’s men have finally hit form after their shocking losing streak of four matches in a row in the tournament; and have just picked up their second consecutive victory. Maxwell only joined the Kingsmen a few days ago but it’s certainly had a positive effect on the team's current form and this all-round performance against Islamabad United at the National Stadium in Karachi really does illustrate this. He took just one wicket for 21 runs in four overs but followed that with an unbeaten innings of 21 runs off just nine balls to seal the chase. They chased 153 relatively easily as they ran out winners by six wickets and nine balls remaining. In his first game against the Karachi Kings, Maxwell couldn't make a telling difference with either the ball or bat, scoring just 2 runs, but even in that match, the Kingsmen still won by four wickets, as their comeback truly began. Speaking after the game Maxwell said: "I was pretty tired. I think the transit between Colombo and Karachi really cooked me. It was about a five hour lay over which isn't very long but that time really fell in the middle of my sleep time. I tried to stay awake and i really struggled to get through day and to get through that game in truth. I wasn't even sure if i was going to be able to get up for today. It was my old, aging body working against me, however I’m glad I got the extra attention from the physios who got me up for today’s game." Although tiring, Maxwell delivered under pressure. Both his effort with bat and ball should lift Kingsmen greatly. They will meet RawalPindiZ in their next fixture which is to be played on April 16 at the same venue in Karachi. Kingsmen are on a roll now with back to back victories and would look to extend their stay in the league.
