Youngster Priyansh Arya became a name to reckon among Punjab Kings (PBKS) supporters after he had an amazing season playing for them in the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Delhi-born opening batter made his way up the ranks and showcased his powerful-hitting skills during the cash-rich league. The batter, however, does not want to be stereotyped as a T20 specialist. In a recent conversation, the young cricketer has spoken about his dreams of becoming part of Delhi's team in red-ball cricket to feature in tournaments such as Ranji Trophy. Though his attention is immediately directed towards the upcoming Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025, but the Indian domestic season is kicking off soon, and the left-hand batter just doesn't wish to take a break it appears. Here is what Priyansh was quoted as saying by NDTV Sports: “After DPL, I will start preparation for red-ball cricket. Last year, as well, I spoke about that I want to play that form of cricket. I will seek advice from my coach Sanjay [Bharadwaj] sir and prepare accordingly. I hope I would be able to make my red ball debut and not just remain a white-ball specialist next season,” Also Read: Australia creates record with 5-0 win in T20I series against West Indies The initial Southpaw was at the top of form with the bat for the Punjab Kings team in the IPL 2025, accumulating an amazing 475 runs from 17 matches and went hammer and tongs from the word: go. He created blistering starts in the powerplay overs, but when it was the IPL final against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, he was not the best of the outings, as PBKS got close but remained sans their first title in the league. Priyansh is yet to get over it. “After IPL, people have started recognising me more. Whenever I go out now, they ask for selfies and photos. It feels really good to be known now, it gives me a sense of pride. Losing the IPL final still hurts, but now we have to wait for the next edition and by the time we don't win the final, it will stay that way,” he recalled. Priyansh was an important pick-up by the Shreyas Iyer-captained team in the last IPL season, and the franchise is expected to have the faith in him again by retaining the youngster in its retention list.
