Priyank Panchal recently divulged why he made his retirement from all types of cricket at 35 years old. The veteran of India's domestic cricket structure declared the decision on May 26 this year. Panchal's reply came while he himself was conducting an Ask Me Anything session on his X followers. His reply to a cricket supporter made it appear as if Panchal had reconciled with not being in the consideration of making an international debut for India. He has represented the Indian red-ball team on a couple of occasions, which included also being called as a replacement for injured Rohit Sharma. He was included among the reserve opening batters alongside Abhimanyu Easwaran during India's home Test series against England. Panchal guided Gujarat to a title win in the 2016/17 campaign of the Ranji Trophy. He was the highest scorer by registering 1310 runs from 17 innings with an incredible average of 87.33. He had totaled an incredible unbeaten 314-run score in the same season. The top-order batsman was also featured in the title-winning combinations of Gujarat in the 2012/13 and 2013/14 editions of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and the 2015/16 edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
