The Englishmen, who often boast sportsmanship, have been brought under immense security after two fans, one from England and the other from Pakistan, were seen fighting in the Premadasa Stadium. Notably, England was playing against Pakistan in Colombo when the fight erupted. In the viral video shared by an X account holder named Jake Jeakings, an aged fan from England was seen engaging in a heated argument with the Pakistani fan. Several other fans tried to deescalate the rage, while one Sri Lankan fan literally climbed up the the chair trying to hug the Englishman and claim him. The Pakistani fan, namely Zohaib Muhammad, received immense backlash from social media when he decided to upload an extensive video explaining the whole situation. Zohaib claimed that the entire thing was preplanned, with the man along with Jake, intentionally trying to frame him. While the other England fans were cordial and had even apologized to him later, the main problem was the old man. According to Zohaib, he was peacefully enjoying the match when the aged fan came with a glass of alcohol. Zohaib claimed that the England fan was repeatedly teasing him, and the alcohol's smell was coming too. Later, the man poured the alcohol on Zohaib. The fact that he is Muslim, he protested against it, leading to a fight between the two. He even claimed and added footage that right after the match, other English fans came and apologized to him.
