Royal Challengers Bengaluru bowler Yash Dayal spoke on missing IPL 2026 saying the decision was not made personally by him. The left arm seamer who was a vital part of RCB's title win last season is entangled in criminal charges in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. Dayal is being investigated for allegations of sexual assault on the promise of marriage in a case filed in Ghaziabad. He was granted protection from arrest in this case by the Allahabad High Court. In a case filed in Jaipur, alleged to be a case involving a minor, Rajasthan High Court denied relief from arrest, deeming the charges to be severe under the POCSO Act. Talking on the show Talk with Manvendra on YouTube, Dayal said he missed being on the team and it has been hard for him to sit at home and watch the matches. 'Wasn't my personal decision': Dayal He said: "Obviously, if you are sitting outside. When I watch them on television, sometimes I just get up. But then it is my team, and they haven't removed me. They kept me on the retain list and didn't get me a replacement. They probably think that I am an important part. The other thing is that my opting out of this season wasn't my personal decision. The statement could be controversial, but the decision is always made by the authority. I don't know what was the reason was behind RCB's decision." Prior to IPL 2026, RCB director of cricket Mo Bobat had announced that Dayal would miss the season due to "a personal situation". Bobat further added then that this decision was in the best interest of both Dayal and RCB. However, Dayal reiterated that it was an authoritative decision. "I miss them a lot. I don't know if the team misses me, the fans will say that." The complaint lodged in Jaipur was allegedly filed at the Sanganer Sadar police station. As per the minor, she first met Dayal during an IPL game in Jaipur, after which she was allegedly sexually abused multiple times over two years. The FIR reportedly also stated that Dayal used to manipulate the minor emotionally, while also making her false promises of her getting to be a cricket star. The matter is reportedly being investigated by the authorities. The Uttar Pradesh government had barred Dayal from playing in the UP T20 League last year even after signing up with the Gorakhpur Lions for INR 7 lakh after the second FIR was filed.
