Bangladesh national team head coach, Phil Simmons, who had journeyed on the side during their current tour to Sri Lanka, will be off to the United Kingdom for a short spell. He will be leaving to see specialists in London regarding his health issue and is due to return to the island nation on July 7. Before the formal announcement, there had been rumors that Simmons had been summoned to the President of the Bangladesh Cricket Board, Aminul Islam, for a performance assessment of the coaching arrangement. That wasn't the situation. As per the team officials, Simmons had informed about his journey well in advance to the administration, which was given permission, considering he comes back in three days' time. They will face Sri Lanka in the second ODI at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Saturday, July 5. The match is scheduled to start at 2:30 pm (IST). The two teams will play a three-match T20I series once the 50-over format is completed to complete the all-format task.
