The Pakistan Cricket Board has been logging repeated complaints since the handshake drama started. And now PCK targeted Suryakumar Yadav, the captain of the Indian side. According to a report from ESPNCricinfo, PCB has lodged another complaint; however, on their first encounter against India in the group stage, saying Surya's comments were "political." However, there is a catch. Normally, complaints are to be lodged within seven days of the incident. The group stage match happened on September 14, and it has already passed the given time limit. Thus, there is no confirmation whether the complaint was lodged officially or not. And if they have done it, when did they actually do it! Notably, Pakistan had issues with Suryakumar dedicating the win to the Pahalgam victims. ICC match referee Richie Richardson has reportedly requested Surya to clarify his statements made during the post-match presentation and press interactions. As per Dainik Jagran, after examining the reports and available evidence, Richardson determined that Surya’s comments tarnished the sport’s reputation, confirming the charges against him. Earlier, the match referee, Andy Pycroft, had been at the center of attention during this match after India refused to shake hands with Pakistan players. Pak players were stranded as India retreated without a word. This had hurt the Pakistani ego, with Naqvi writing to the ICC urging to remove Pycroft from the referee panel, or else they will boycott the tournament. However, nothing such happened. Pakistan is still in contention for the final spot. Meanwhile, India secured a spot in the tournament final following a 41-run victory over Bangladesh on Wednesday night. On the other hand, ACC president and PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi posted a slow-motion Ronaldo video on X, mimicking Haris Rauf’s on-field aircraft gesture during IND-PAK clash. The act drew attention from BCCI and ICC ahead of India’s Asia Cup final.
