Reports are saying that the Pakistan Cricket Board have agreed to accept the hybrid model theory, given the conditions are accepted. On November 29, a meeting was held between the ICC delegates and the PCB regarding the hosting rights of the 2025 Champions Trophy. According to reports, sources have claimed PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi will accept the hybrid model but has put forward a few conditions. The International Cricket Council (ICC) had earlier made it clear to PCB that accepting the hybrid model is the only option left to them. The virtual meeting held in November was attended by 12 full ICC members as well as Naqvi. It is said that 7 countries, baring Pakistan, found no issues with the hybrid model. Conditions from Pakistan to achieve the hybrid model Only Indian matches in Dubai: Earlier, it was known that the ICC had let Pakistan host at least one semi-final and the final match of the tournament. For that, travel arrangements and lounge bookings have to be completed much before everything starts. Well, in case India qualifies, there may appear some logistical issues. But it is speculated that Pakistan has agreed to this and has nodded to the shifting of the final to Dubai if India qualifies. Other than that, all the matches considering India will be hosted in Dubai. If India doesn't qualify, Lahore will host the final. Neutral Venues for ICC Tournaments: India was the host for the 2023 ODI World Cup, where Pakistan participated. India has been denying Pakistan tours for a long, and thus the neighbour said that they won't travel to India. They have asked the ICC to schedule neutral venues for any India-Pakistan face-off during the tournaments. Champions Trophy Hosting Dilemma The Champions Trophy, which is coming back fully after 8 years, has brought some unwanted issues regarding the geopolitical tensions between the two neighbours. Pakistan, which had earlier proposed to host all eight teams in three cities (Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi), was given around PKR 12.8 billion for renovation. An initial cold war and finally backing out from the tournament citing security concerns had triggered ego in the chairman's mind. Well, ICC has been pressuring PCK to go with the hybrid model, and finally, the clot looks to have cleared.
