Pakistan’s opening batter Fakhar Zaman is likely to rejoin the national white-ball team and be reinstated on the central contracts list following a brief disciplinary issue. After he posted a comment referencing captain Babar Azam, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) deemed it a breach of the players' code of conduct. However, reports from Cricket Pakistan suggest that the PCB will limit its response to a formal reprimand. Fakhar Zaman expressed his disappointment with the PCB’s decision to exclude Babar from the Test squad against England. This led to him receiving a show-cause notice and being removed from the central contract. Recently, reports have surfaced suggesting that both Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq may be at risk of being dropped from the squad for the upcoming series against South Africa. A source as mentioned in Cricket Pakistan, said: “He is likely to be a part of the team that will take on South Africa and will then get back his central contract.” Presently, Pakistan is competing in a white-ball series against Australia, after which the team is set to travel to Zimbabwe. Squads for both series have already been announced, and neither Fakhar nor Imam is included. Pakistan’s upcoming series will include a three-match T20I match against South Africa starting on December 10, followed by a three-match ODI series beginning on December 17.
