The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will be upgrading the legendary National Stadium of Karachi. According to the recent news, the board will begin renovating work for the stadium from November. Remodeling the enclosure of the stadium is one of the major items on the agenda of the PCB for the renovation of the stadium. The PCB also upgraded the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore in preparation for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy earlier this year. The National Stadium also played host to a few games in the tournament, including the opening game of Pakistan against New Zealand. As GeoSuper.tv reported on Tuesday, October 21; the PCB will reform the National Stadium in Karachi. The board is looking to introduce various measures in an attempt to improve the spectacle for viewers at the stadium. The last overhauls were carried out in order to prepare the venue for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. In addition to the National Stadium renovation in Karachi, the PCB also renovated the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, as well as the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium for the eight-team ODI tournament. Besides this, the PCB is said to be working together with the Capital Development Authority (CDA) of Pakistan to build a new cricket stadium in Islamabad. The CDA will manage the stadium, while the PCB will administer the cricketing operations for the stadium. At present, time will only tell whether the PCB manages to finish its National Stadium overhaul in preparation for the PSL 2026 season next year.
