Fakhar Zaman is involved in a dispute with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) after the board dropped Babar Azam from the team. The PCB issued a show-cause notice to Fakhar after he reacted to the development through a social media post over the news that the exclusion of Babar for the second and third Tests was leaked. Concerned Fakhar posts on the X (formerly Twitter), stating it as a concern to sideline arguably Pakistan's best batter ever produced. This would send a "deeply negative message." He urged to board to "Safeguard" players instead of undermining them. PCB strongly reacted to Fakhar's statement that said he brought the game into disrepute. They said that he should not have said anything like that about his employer, when he is a centrally contracted player. PCB is disappointed that Fakhar did not raise his concerns internally. This judgment will depend on his response and whether he accepts the charge or not. In any case though, so far, Fakhar has nothing more to say about it. The post is still up and running on X. The PCB claims that Babar was resting for the coming white-ball series against Australia, Zimbabwe, and South Africa, but that is complicated since Pakistan is already one down in the series and Babar did not claim a rest; instead, he was ready to continue playing. Babar has been in form in Test cricket as well, not scoring a half-century in the last 18 innings he batted.
