The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has informed the International Cricket Council (ICC) that Dubai, UAE, will be the neutral venue for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The PCB agreed to host the eight-team tournament using a hybrid model after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed that the Indian team would not travel to Pakistan for the event. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi had a meeting with the Emirates Cricket Board’s head, Sheikh Nahyan bin in Pakistan on December 21 for the scheduling of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, and it seems they have reached an agreement. Here is what PCB spokesman Amir Mir said in a release “We have conveyed to the ICC that Dubai will be the neutral venue after a meeting between PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi and Sheikh Mubarak Al Nahyan, the chairman of the Emirates Cricket Board in Pakistan on Sunday,” Also Read | PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi Explains Jason Gillespie Snub Dubai is now set to host Team India’s three group-stage matches against Pakistan, Bangladesh, and New Zealand in the ICC Champions Trophy. If India makes it to the semifinals and final, those games will also be held in Dubai. While the tournament schedule hasn’t been announced yet, it’s expected to be released soon since most of the details are already finalized. The schedule was initially supposed to be revealed by November 11, but disagreements between the PCB and BCCI caused delays. Things moved quickly after December 19, when the PCB agreed to the hybrid model. This decision came after the ICC promised Pakistan the hosting rights for the Women’s T20 World Cup in 2028 and guaranteed that India vs Pakistan matches over the next four years would take place at neutral venues. As part of the deal, Pakistan won’t play against India in India during the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 and the Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. Additionally, the ICC is open to hosting triangular or quadrangular series involving India, Pakistan, and other Asian teams.
