The Pakistan Cricket Board has issued a statement informing that the upgrade of the allotted stadiums for the Champions Trophy 2025 is on full fledge and will be completed on or within the given time. Recently, a lot of videos have been circulating indicating the shabby condition of the stadiums in Pakistan. A report from the Times of India has published a report where a source has said that Pakistan is nowhere near refurbishment but is undergoing construction. PCB's press release, which seemed to be an immediate response to the TOI reports, has assured that all work will be done by January 25. Almost 250 workers are doing tireless work to meet the ICC stands for hosting the Champions Trophy. The TOI report informed that the dressing room and media boxes are not ready. Even the outfield is yet to be declared fit, including floodlights and other facilities. However, stating Gaddafi Stadium's issue, PCB confirmed that they are enhancing the seating capacity to 35,000 and is installing 480 LED floodlights. The state-of-the-art players’ and officials’ hospitality enclosure is also set to be operational by late January. The National Bank Stadium in Karachi is undergoing similar enhancements, further bolstering Pakistan’s ability to host international events seamlessly. In the press release, PCB also stated that they have decided to shift the upcoming tri-nation ODI series involving Pakistan, New Zealand, and South Africa to these upgraded stadiums. The main motive will be to test the facilities, also proving Pakistan's abilities.
