The Pakistan Cricket team has not been up to its best with their performance lately, which has significantly contributed to its downfall in international cricket. Not only this, the Pakistan team failed to make it to the knockout stages of three consecutive ICC tournaments; they were knocked out from the group stage itself. Keeping this aside, their team have been constantly going through a reshuffling where no coach or player has gotten a permanent seat, which ultimately justifies their loophole in their management. The decision from the higher authorities has constantly kept players and coaches under the radar, which sometimes has led to arguments between the players and coaches. It is sad that their star performers have to be kept aside from their regular squad due to their poor performance. But it is also important that Pakistan should give newer opportunities to the young guns they have been nurturing. As per a report by DAWN News, several key issues were discussed in the meeting to revive Pakistan cricket in the international arena. The meeting was also attended by PCB chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, which highlights the importance of the meeting. Also, Pakistan Cricket defended itself by arguing that they had four chairmen since 2021, which ultimately disrupted their management. Mohsin Naqvi took over the chairman position from Zaka Ashraf in 2024. Before him, PCB had seen Najam Sethi and Ramiz Raza as their PCB chairman. Another important point that was highlighted in the meeting was the bilateral restriction to only two matches. However, in the meeting, a decision was made to revert to the traditional three Tests, three ODIs, and as many T20I matches in a series.
