Punjab Kings all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has been fined 25% of his match fees for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during Tuesday’s match against Chennai Super Kings at Mullanpur. The IPL board confirmed the sanction in an official release, stating that Maxwell had committed a Level 1 offence under Article 2.2, which pertains to the “abuse of fixtures and fittings during a match.” “Glenn Maxwell admitted to the Level 1 offence under article 2.2 (abuse of fixtures and fittings during the Match) and accepted the Match Referee's sanction. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding,” the release stated. Article 2.2 includes any action that damages cricket equipment or ground fixtures due to frustration, such as hitting advertising boards or kicking dressing room doors. While the statement confirmed the breach, it did not disclose the exact incident that led to the punishment of Glenn Maxwell. PBKS seal 18-run win despite early collapse On Tuesday, PBKS defeated CSK by 18 runs at Mullanpur. Batting first, PBKS looked down and out at 83 for 5 before opener Priyansh Arya launched the counterattack. The opener smashed 103 off just 42 balls, while Shashank Singh added an unbeaten 52 off 36 to help the team post over 200 runs. Marco Jansen, in the end, chipped in with a quickfire 34* off 19 deliveries as PBKS posted 219/6.
