After getting brutally thrashed in the first Test match, Sri Lanka is desperately searching for a way to make their comeback in the final Test match. Australia defeated the hosts by an innings and 242 runs in the opening Test match and will be looking to make a clean sweep in the series. Pathum Nissanka also took part in the practice session in Galle where other team members were practising and trained with the team on the same pitch where the first match was played. Pathum Nissanka has been performing brilliantly for his team in the recent few years, his performance across the different formats of the game has made his name as the best priming rising talent in the team across the formats. He last played his Test match against South Africa where he scored 89 off 157 balls in the first innings of the match. Nissanka is likely to replace Oshada Fernando at the top and could be seen opening with Dimuth Karunaratne in the upcoming Test. Apart from Pathum Nissanka, Sri Lanka has also added an off-spinner Ramesh Mendis to their squad for the 2nd Test match to strengthen the spin department. The hosts had a poor outing in the first Test match but they will look to bounce back in the final match.
