As Australia gears up for the World Test Championship Final at the Lord's Cricket Ground in England, Aussie Captain Pat Cummins is not expecting a neutral English crowd in the gallery at all. While he is not downplaying any Aussie support from the crowd, he believes that it will majorly come from the Australians who live in England. Regarding the fan support, Cummins said in the pre-match press conference, "Probably, yeah, hard to know [if neutrals will support South Africa]. There’s a lot of Aussies here in London, so I’m sure there’ll be lots of Aussies out there, lots of South African fans as well. And yeah, wouldn’t be surprised if the English have a few supporting South Africa as well. But yeah, we’ll wait and see." It was in Lord's when Alex Carey produced the most bizarre dismissal of Jonny Bairstow on Day 5 of the second Test. Bairstow, assuming the ball to be dead, walked away from the crease, but Carey's underarm throw toppled the bails, and the umpire declared him out. Carey was booed throughout the remainder of the series, even though Carey felt nothing wrong about it. Australia eventually won the Test match by 43 runs, and that marked the country's third win in the venue since 2010. However, Cummins is loving the calmness of the empty stands. Speaking of Steve Smith's presence, Cummins said, "Yeah, great few days. Maybe there’s no crowds – that helps – but it’s always good to be back here. It’s such an iconic ground and we do enjoy playing over here. Someone like Smithy has scored a lot of runs here – over the past three or four Ashes series and Test matches. I think we’ve either won or come close to winning every Test. So yeah, it’s a place we like playing at. Even in white-ball cricket, we’ve had some success here as well." Notably, ace batter Steve Smith is set to be a crucial figure in the final, thanks to his remarkable track record at the historic Lord’s. Across five matches at the venue, Smith has amassed 525 runs, featuring two centuries and a pair of half-centuries.
