Australia captain Pat Cummins is back to bowling after a two-month break, getting ready for a big summer. He last played in the T20 World Cup, where Australia didn’t reach the semifinals, and then participated in Major League Cricket in July before taking time off. He skipped the ODI series against England but is expected to play in the white-ball series against Pakistan in November 2024. The ODIs against Pakistan are important for next year’s Champions Trophy, but the Border-Gavaskar Trophy will be another big challenge for Australia. In the video posted by Cummins, he is looking sharp and is much in a better state than before. He captioned his Instagram post, "Getting ready for a huge summer. First few bowls back after a pre-season break. let’s gooooo," Watch the video here View this post on Instagram A post shared by Pat Cummins (@patcummins30) Cummins had an amazing last year, winning both the ICC World Test Championship and ICC Cricket World Cup by beating India in the finals of both tournaments. Cummins is also planning to play in the upcoming Sheffield Shield to get some practice with the red ball before the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He hasn’t played a Shield game in the past three years. Australian skipper has taken 46 wickets in 12 games in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, with an average of 25.45 and his best figures being 6/27. This makes him the 13th-highest wicket-taker in the series. Recently, he admitted that India's wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant has been a key factor in India's back-to-back Test series wins in Australia. The Border-Gavaskar Trophy will start in Perth on November 22.
