Former Indian cricketer Parthiv Patel has denied a viral statement that went online, where he was quoted saying something about Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. According to the viral statement, Parthiv said that Kohli did not want Rohit to play Tests during his tenure as a skipper since Rohit could match him as he did in ODIs and T20Is. It further added that Kohli feared Rohit might level up with him in all formats. The viral statement quoted the three double hundreds, 11 centuries in the World Cups and five centuries in T20Is by Rohit, claiming Kohli was only ahead of Rohit in Test cricket. According to the viral (fake) statement, Parthiv said: "Virat Kohli didn't want Rohit to play Test in his captaincy because Rohit was equal to Virat in ODIs & T20i, 3 double hundred, 11 hundred in WC and 5 hundred in T20i. Virat was ahead of Rohit only in Test, He was afraid Rohit would be equal to him in all formats" The former Indian cricketer called it as a fake news and cleared the air by saying that he haven't said anything like this. He further urged to verify the sources of information before posting anything. Parthiv posted on Twitter addressing the issue calling it "Fake News" and wrote: "I haven't said this. And this is not true also. Please verify your sources because they are giving you very fake information." #fakenews I haven’t said this. And this isn’t true either.
