Pakistan batter Saud Shakeel became the seventh cricketer in the history of cricket to be timed out. The dismissal took place during the ongoing President's Trophy final. Representing the State Bank of Pakistan, Shakeel was caught off guard when two quick wickets fell, and he failed to take the guard within the allotted three minutes. This also makes him the first Pakistani batter to be dismissed in this rare manner. The unusual dismissal occurred during the Grade 1 First-Class final between the State Bank of Pakistan and Pakistan Television. Shakeel, who bats at number five, was reportedly not expecting his turn to bat so soon. It was reported that he had dozed off, and the rapid fall of wickets left him scrambling to get to the crease. Shakeel had to rush to face the hat-trick ball. However, he arrived late, and the PTV's captain immediately appealed for a timed-out decision. The umpire upheld the appeal, resulting in Shakeel's dismissal. A timed-out dismissal occurs when a batter fails to be ready to face the next delivery within three minutes.
