Pakistan is ready to host South Africa for a multi-format series, beginning October 12. The task would have the two sides face each other in a couple of Tests, followed by three T20 Internationals and as many One-Day Internationals. This will also be the inaugural tour for Pakistan for the World Test Championship 2025-27 cycle, and the hosts would like to make a flying start, following a dismal performance in the last edition of the big Test calendar. The task would be all the more daunting, since the Proteas are the current WTC champions, having thrashed Australia in the final at Lord's in June 2025. The opening Test is to be staged at the historic Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, to be followed by the subsequent one at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Rawalpindi will also host the first T20I, and the teams will make their way back to Lahore for the rest of the two matches in the shortest format. This will be followed by three One-Day Internationals to conclude the last phase of the tour. The initial ODI will be a mouth-watering one, for the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad will host international cricket for 50 overs after 17 long years. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made a concerted effort throughout the years to restore cricket to the ground, and the day of happiness is finally arising. PCB did not release any information regarding squads for the series, but they are likely to be named in due course. Here is what PCB Chief Operating Officer said: "We are looking forward to welcome South Africa for the opening series of our ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 campaign. Starting the new cycle against the current Test champions will provide quality cricket for our players and fans. The return of ODI cricket to Faisalabad after 17 years is a special moment. Iqbal Stadium holds a proud place in our cricketing history and we are excited to bring international cricket back to this part of the country,” South Africa Tour of Pakistan 2025 – Complete Schedule, Dates, Venues Match Date Ground 1st Test October 12-16 Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore 2nd Test October 20-24 Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi 1st T20I October 28 Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi 2nd T20I October 31 Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore 3rd T20I November 1 Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore 1st ODI November 4 Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad 2nd ODI November 6 Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad 3rd ODI November 8 Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad
