Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially postponed its scheduled white-ball series against Ireland, originally set for September-October, to the 2027 season. The series, comprising three T20Is and three ODIs, would have marked Ireland men’s first tour to Pakistan. However, the congested calendar forced PCB to drop it from this year’s home season. The decision was made in mutual agreement with Cricket Ireland. PCB’s international cricket department told ESPNcricinfo, "We wanted to balance content and planning better across the two seasons. It made more sense for us both to spread the fixtures further out as we already have substantial content leading into Asia Cup and then the World Cup." While the series remains on the official schedule online, PCB has internally decided to shift it to a more viable window in the future. The decision comes as Pakistan juggles several key fixtures, including a white-ball series with West Indies and an upcoming tri-series with Afghanistan and the UAE. Adding to that, Pakistan will host South Africa for a two-Test series in early October, further reducing any leeway. A proposed ODI series against Bangladesh was dropped, and the current West Indies series nearly became T20-only. Meanwhile, the Afghanistan series was reformatted into a tri-series. Ireland has no conflicting fixtures but agreed to the deferment, making the postponement collaborative rather than one-sided.
