Mohammed Zohaib, UAE batter, received an unexpected punishment when officials sent him home from the T20 World Cup tournament. The Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed the decision on Monday, stating that Zohaib was recalled to Dubai after breaching team disciplinary guidelines. The board announced that they would provide complete information about the incident at a later time. Zohaib raised serious allegations against the team management immediately after the announcement. He claimed that the team had decided to remove him because of his nationality instead of any disciplinary reasons. Zohaib claimed that the entire UAE team management consists of Indian members, while he himself is from Pakistan, which led to his sudden exit from the team. Zohaib has strongly denied any wrongdoing and has asked for an official investigation into the matter. According to him, injustice has been done and he wants an explanation for the severe consequences which occurred without any detailed justification.
