Former England all-rounder Moeen Ali has questioned Pakistan’s highly-rated pace attack, stating that while they are good, they are not the best in the world. Moeen Ali's comments come in the wake of Pakistan’s disappointing performance in the recently concluded ICC Champions Trophy, where they failed to register a single win despite being the host nation. The Pakistan's fast-bowling trio—Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf—has struggled to meet expectations in recent times. Their below-par performances have led to growing calls from former cricketers and fans to look into their bowling attack and possibly look beyond the trio. I’m like, no. They’re good, but they’re not the best,” Moeen Ali said on the Beard Before Wicket podcast. While discussing Pakistan’s below-par Champions Trophy campaign with Adil Rashid, Moeen elaborated on his claims. I am not calling them bad, but they are not the best in the business at the moment,” he added. Forgettable Champions Trophy for Pakistan Trio Pakistan’s pacers failed to live up to the hype as they couldn't make much impact during the ICC Champions Trophy. Naseem Shah, Shaheen Afridi, and Haris Rauf each managed just two wickets in as many matches. Among them, Naseem was the most economical, maintaining a rate of 5.55, while Shaheen and Haris had expensive figures of 7.88 and 7.94, respectively. Pakistan faced defeats against New Zealand and India, while their group-stage encounter against Bangladesh was abandoned due to rain, ultimately leading to their early exit from the tournament. Pakistan cricket team will return to international action with a five-match T20I and three-match ODI series against New Zealand, starting this Sunday (March 16). Interestingly, Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf have been selected only for the T20Is, while Naseem Shah has been included solely in the ODI squad.
