Pakistani all-rounder Sajid Ali posted a photo of himself saluting David Warner, with a caption saying "Sportsman Spirit" with the Pakistani flag beside it. However, it is not certain whether he was indicating that India denied shaking hands with Pakistan during the 2025 Asia Cup. It happened to be David Warner's final Test match when he was dismissed at 57 runs off 75 balls. In the third ball of the 24th over, Sajid Khan dismissed David Warner with a clever delivery that turned sharply from outside off stump. Warner attempted to drive but edged the ball, and Sajid’s confident appeal convinced the umpire to refer it upstairs. After the review, Warner was given out, ending his innings on a well-made half-century. Despite the dismissal, Warner walked off to applause, receiving handshakes from the Pakistan players and acknowledging the crowd. That day, Sajid took Usman Khawaja in the second innings and had one wicket from the first innings. However, Australia had crushed Pakistan by 8 wickets and had whitewashed them for a 3-0 series victory. He not only feels that the match referee, Andy Pycroft, had no role in India denying to shake hands, but he also feels that the entire thing has been unnecessarily dragged beyond limits. He has supported patriotism but he still votes to move on with cricket. In an interaction with India Today, Quereshi said, "I disagree with the Pakistan Cricket Board going after Andy Pycroft. I don't think Pycroft has done anything wrong. He has not broken rules, or he has not done anything. So I don't think that is appropriate. This issue is now getting blown out of proportion. I think it should just now be closed. And we just now get on with life and get on with cricket." Meanwhile, ICC had officially declined to remove Pycroft from the Asia Cup referee panel. However, reports are suggesting that Richie Richardson will be replacing Pycroft in Pakistan's match today against the UAE.
