Team India’s participation in the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan is still not confirmed. The BCCI could potentially ask the ICC to adopt a hybrid model for the tournament, allowing India’s share of Champions Trophy matches to be moved to a different location. In a recent development, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is reportedly bracing for India's likely decision to decline traveling to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. However, sources have indicated that the PCB remains firm in its decision to keep the tournament's final in Lahore, even if India makes it to the title match on March 9. The PCB’s position on hosting the final is expected to be a key topic of discussion when the International Cricket Council (ICC) Board members convene in Dubai from October 18 to 21. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has refuted these claims, stating they haven’t received any such proposal from the PCB. The source said: "The PCB's first choice and priority is to host entire Champions Trophy in Pakistan and they are counting on this but internally the Board is also mentally prepared to hear about the Indian government not allowing its team to play in Pakistan and India's matches being held in UAE. But the PCB has decided even in the event of India not playing in Pakistan they want the final to be held in Lahore. Even if India qualifies for the final the PCB wants the ICC to hold the match at the Gaddafi stadium in Lahore." The 2025 Champions Trophy is set to kick off in mid-February, with all 15 matches scheduled to take place in the host country Pakistan.
