Pakistan coach Mike Hesson has expressed confidence in his revamped squad ahead of the three-match ODI series against Bangladesh, highlighting several uncapped players who have impressed domestically and with the Pakistan Shaheens. Six uncapped players are included, forming a blend of experienced cricketers and emerging talent. On Monday, ahead of Pakistan's first training session in Dhaka, Hesson said, "It is an exciting group. We have got some fresh faces that have done well in the Shaheens. They have earned the right to get some opportunities at the next level. We are excited as a group to involve them. I think our challenge over here is adapting to the pitch quickly. Regardless of what's thrown at us, we have got to make sure we have got a team ready to challenge Bangladesh in their own conditions." The coach cited Pakistan’s recent strong form, noting victories in the last two one-day series and stable performances at the top of the order. Hesson also emphasized that the focus is on testing young players rather than framing selection decisions as dropping senior members. He said, "I don't think anyone particularly was dropped. I think it's a great opportunity for us to look at some younger talent. We get very few opportunities in the calendar to give a number of promising players opportunities. You are either heading into a pinnacle or just leading into it." He said, "Without doubt, it certainly looks a far better pitch and better coverage than it has been. It looks like there's a lot more grass cover and [there is likely to be] a genuine contest between bat and ball. I think both sides will benefit from that." Notable young players include Sahibzada Farhan, Shamyl Hussain, and Maaz Sadaqat, all expected to showcase their skills in challenging conditions. Pakistan will open the ODI series on Wednesday, followed by matches on March 13 and 15, all at Dhaka. Hesson’s comments underscore Pakistan’s intent to nurture new talent while testing conditions improved since last year’s T20I series, balancing experience with opportunity for emerging cricketers.
