Former India selector and World Cup winner Kris Srikkanth has given a cutting analysis of how Pakistan performed during the Asia Cup 2025. In a video on his YouTube channel prior to the India vs Pakistan Super 4 match on Sunday, September 21, Srikkanth stated the present Pakistan team is far from the level of the leading cricketing teams. "Seventh Division Team" Remark Srikkanth drew parallels between Pakistan's level of play and a seventh division team in a Chennai local league. He disparaged their uncompetitive nature and even proposed that they play only against Associate nations rather than against world-class cricket teams. Srikkanth said: "Going forward, Pakistan shouldn't be playing with the main teams. Have them among the Associate nations and bring a few of the others there here. It's a big thing for Pakistan that they are even allowed to play in such a prestigious tournament." Pakistan's campaign has been patchy till now. They beat Oman minnows in their first match and then got thrashed by India. In their final group match, they managed to survive against UAE by a whisker, just qualifying for the Super 4s. According to the former attacking batter, the encounter between India and Pakistan no longer generates passion among supporters because of India's one-sided record. He said: "Pakistan should be removed from the top seven. From hereon, India-Pakistan matches won't attract crowds. India-Pakistan rivalry has become history. This Pakistan team will give us no scare. This is a seventh division team in a Chennai league." Criticism of Pakistan Coach Mike Hesson Pakistan's coach Mike Hesson also faced a dig from the former India opener, stating that the team will not move forward with him as their coach. Srikkanth stated: "Mike Hesson will be back with his statements on how they are a very good team and they were unlucky in the last match against India. You'll go nowhere with Mike Hesson as your coach." India will enter the Super 4 encounter as obvious favourites, while Pakistan will seek to shut critics and show their mettle on the international stage.
