The BCCI vice president has said that the 2025 Indian Premier League will resume after a gap of a week. But that has not settled the overseas players. A lot of foreign players have been panicking since the match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals got cancelled. According to the Times of India, BCCI has been helping the players with all logistical issues. However, their future in the league will be decided later. An IPL official said, as quoted by TOI, “They will be heading back home, we will help with all the logistics but every foreign player and members of the support staff will be headed back to their respective country. Depending on what is decided in the future, a call will be taken on them returning for the league. But as now, they will be headed back home." The official added, "All players will be headed back home, including the overseas players." Currently the team is in Lucknow; the players have left individually from the city itself. Meanwhile, for Mumbai Indians, the team will be reaching Mumbai first before departing for their own places. Amid escalating security concerns, the Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals match in Dharamshala last night, was called off. Initailly it was claimed as a result of sudden power outage and a floodlight failure. But Rajeev Shukla later clarified the gravity of the situation. Pakistan had already launched attacks at the border, and by then had reached Pathankot, just 85 km away from the stadium. The BCCI, citing cross-border tensions and standing in solidarity with the Indian Armed Forces, suspended the IPL today morning. HPCA confirmed a regional power failure disrupted play, forcing abandonment. Fans were promptly evacuated, with Arun Dhumal urging calm. Both teams shared a point, though Punjab was in strong form at 122/1 in 10.1 overs. With blackouts across northern India, IPL 2025’s fate remains uncertain.
