India and Mumbai Indians batter Suryakumar Yadav congratulated Rohit Sharma after the legendary opener was honoured with a stand named after him at the iconic Wankhede Stadium. The gesture by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) came as recognition for Rohit’s years of service to Indian and Mumbai cricket. The Rohit Sharma Stand was officially unveiled at Wankhede on Friday evening in a grand ceremony attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and other dignitaries. The former Mumbai Indians captain has represented India since 2007 and remains one of the country's most decorated cricketers. Rohit has played 67 Tests, 273 ODIs, and 159 T20Is for India. He was part of the 2007 T20 World Cup-winning team and, as captain, led India to victory in both the T20 World Cup 2024 and Champions Trophy 2025.
