Oman all-rounder Sufyan Mehmood issued a strong warning before their highly anticipated match against India in the Asia Cup 2025. The 33-year-old explained that it will not be an easy job for India to defeat Oman since the side is in good shape and prepared to pull off a major upset. Mehmood's Bold Statement In an interview with India Today, Mehmood revealed that Oman will play without fear and with full confidence. He said: "In terms of preparation, when you play such games, you have to be fearless because there’s nothing to lose. To showcase your talent, you must remove the fear factor. Hopefully, we can challenge both sides and ensure it won’t be an easy cakewalk for them. If we continue playing good cricket, as we are right now, I’m confident we can even cause an upset. It may sound like a bold statement, but I genuinely believe that with our current form, we can make a strong impact in this tournament. We are staying positive about it" He further asserted that Oman's players want to establish themselves when playing against giant cricket countries such as India and Pakistan. Ever since we started playing cricket, we dreamed of competing against the giants of world cricket. Every moment of this tournament will be historic for us, especially these two matches." Oman's Asia Cup 2025 Fixture Oman, under the captaincy of Jatinder Singh, would start their Asia Cup 2025 against Pakistan on September 12 in Dubai. They would then play UAE in Abu Dhabi before returning to Dubai to play India in their last group match. Interestingly, Oman has not played India or Pakistan in T20Is so far. But they have a fighting record against UAE, with whom they have won four out of their nine matches. Even after missing some of the regular players owing to contract disagreements, Oman is set to make themselves heard at the tournament. Mehmood's words indicate that Oman are not here only to play, but to take on the giants of international cricket.
