Stuart Broad has announced his all-time Test XI of the opponents he faced in his international career. This has already been met with debate among cricket fans, simply because Broad picked former Test batter of India, Virat Kohli over the legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar. Widely regarded as one of the greatest fast bowlers in Test history after retiring with more than 600 wickets to his name, Broad was asked by Wisden to choose the strongest XI he had played against. The selection was thus a team consisting of much of the modern era's brightest talent. While their top order consisted of Australians, Kent-based opening bat, Broad, chose to keep the former South African captain, Graeme Smith and Kumar Sangakkara-considered one of the best natural glovemen in world cricket-at five (who also assumed the wicket-keeper role). His choice of top three was: Broad: Smith, Sangakkara (wk), Ponting (3). Kohli (4). Choosing Kohli instead of Tendulkar is probably the biggest debate among followers of Indian cricket. Both had phenomenal Test careers, yet when considering the players he most frequently competed against, Broad opted for the more modern-day powerhouse. Two of the greatest all-formats players ever graced Broad's middle order. For Australia Steven Smith was voted at No. 5 and South Africa's Jacques Kallis sat at No. 6. However at No. 7, Broad decided to call upon the South African legend AB de Villiers, bolstering an already daunting batting line up. The team comprises players who left the deepest impression on Broad during his distinguished international career.
