The youngest player ever signed by an IPL team, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, believes to be on the right path is more important than the hype about him. The Rajasthan Royals picked up the young boy for ₹1.10 crores during the mega auctions of IPL. The base price of Vaibhav was ₹30 lakh and Delhi Capitals opened with the bid at that price. Rajasthan Royals came into the mix with ₹35 lakh, thus leaving Delhi Capitals in the cold in order to clinch this promising young cricketer. The 16-year-old currently forms part of India's Under-19 side playing the Asia Cup. Before India's first match against Pakistan, he addressed Sony Sports: “I’m currently focused on my game. I’m not bothered by what’s happening around me, especially on social media. Playing the Asia Cup and want to focus on that." He achieved this milestone while playing for India Under-19 in a Youth Test against Australia Under-19 in Chennai, where he scored 104 runs off just 62 balls. Speaking about his inspiration, the young cricketer said: “Brian Lara is my idol." Samastipur, Bihar's young cricketer made his T20 debut for Bihar against Rajasthan in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He scored 13 runs off six balls before being dismissed by Deepak Chahar. Vaibhav may have impressed at the junior level but has not been able to deliver a big performance yet in first-class cricket. He has played five matches so far with a top score of 41 and average of 10. Vaibhav first drew attention when he made his Ranji Trophy debut during the 2023-24 season. He was only 12 years and 284 days old when he became the youngest player in the history of the tournament. He was also outstanding in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy at the age of 12, scoring nearly 400 runs in just five matches. For now, he keeps himself absolutely focused on the game and hopes to match that kind of expectation being held on him.
