The Australian star batter Steve Smith was seen making jokes on the International Cricket Council (ICC), calling it not as powerful as the Board of Cricket Council in India (BCCI). Prior to the Boxing Day Test, ABC Sport conducted their traditional interview session with the Australian cricketers. This time they asked the cricketers to describe the ICC, BCCI, and Indian Cricket team in one word. ABC opened the video with the Australian Test team skipper Pat Cummins. He, however, tagged everyone as "big." Apart from Cummins, ABC starred Travis Head, Usman Khawaja, Nathan Lyon, Glenn Maxwell, Alex Carey, and Steve Smith. Steve Smith labelled BCCI as the "powerhouse." But when asked about ICC, he, out of reflex, commented, "not as poweful." He then had a short laugh and said, "No no... I... I cant't say that. I can't say that. That was a joke." Read also: Simon Katich on India's 'Mind Games' in Border Gavaskar Trophy He then said ICC as the "leaders."
