On Saturday, Pakistani spinner Noman Ali scripted history in Multan after taking a hattrick, becoming the first spinner from his country to do so. Pakistan has hosted the West Indies for a two-match Test series, the first one of which Pakistan clinched by 127 runs. The 38-year-old bowled a brilliant spell against the West Indies on Day 1 of the final Test in a two-match series in Pakistan. Noman claimed impressive figures of 5 for 30, including a maiden hat-trick, as the West Indies found themselves in deep trouble at 100 for 9 in the morning session. Twenty-six years after Wasim Akram became the first fast bowler from Pakistan to take a hat-trick in Test cricket, Noman Ali has etched his name in history. Noman became just the fifth Pakistani bowler to achieve a hat-trick in the longest format. Prior to him, Naseem Shah had taken a hat-trick in a 2020 Test match against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi. Babar Azam pulled off a remarkable low catch at gully to secure Sinclair’s edge, completing Noman's hat-trick. On the dust bowl pitch in Multan, Noman was nearly unplayable. The left-arm spinner beat the West Indies batters on both sides of the bat, with Justin Greaves caught in the slips after an expansive drive and Tevin Imlach dismissed LBW after a failed sweep. For the hat-trick delivery, Noman floated the ball with some air, enticing Sinclair to play at it.
