Legendary South African cricketer AB de Villiers shocked fans for omitting Virat Kohli from his top five cricketers he played with or against in Test cricket. The veteran Proteas batter, who played for 14 years, had the fortune of sharing the field with the best players in cricket. Earlier this month, on an appearance for the Beard Before Wicket podcast, de Villiers was asked to identify his five greatest Test players. His picks were South Africa's Jacques Kallis, England's Andrew Flintoff, Australia's Shane Warne, India's Sachin Tendulkar, and Pakistan's Mohammad Asif. When England spinner Adil Rashid brought up Kohli, de Villiers apologized and said: “Kallis, Flintoff, Mohammad Asif, Warne and Sachin with the crowds. The way he (Tendulkar) was received when he walked out to bat, everything would come to a standstill. Beautiful to watch him bat. Virat sorry, Sachin. That’s why such questions are so tough to answer." Also Read | AB de Villiers Returning to RCB? Mr. 360 Teases Exciting News De Villiers Calls Kallis the Greatest De Villiers also expressed his respect for Kallis, referring to him as the greatest cricketer of all time. He remembered Flintoff's infamous yorker at Edgbaston and admired the great Australian spinner Shane Warne. He added: "Kallis is the best all-rounder or maybe the best cricketer of all time. Asif was the best seamer I ever faced. I loved playing against Warne, but I never faced difficulty. I liked his overall personality, the floppy hat, the zinc cream, the blonde hair. Again Andrew Flintoff, who was a big-match performer. That yorker to Kallis in Edgbaston is the best I have seen." Also Read | What Did Virat Kohli Ask Chhattisgarh Villager After SIM Mix-Up?
