With Rohit Sharma struggling a lot, different reports are suggesting that India may drop him and get back Shubman Gill. However, the head coach of the India team, Gautam Gambhir, did not clarify the playing XI for the Sydney Test. However, Rohit Sharma was not seen in the slip cordon during the training, despite having a brief session with the bat. Rohit Sharma later had a chat with Gambhir, vice captain Jasprit Bumrah, and chief selector Ajit Agarkar. On the other hand, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Nitish Kumar Reddy were practicing slip-catching, with Gill receiving fists from the coach. Rishabh Pant, too, was seen doing his drills and was spotted without gloves, sparking debates regarding his inclusion in the team. Thus, India won't like to risk the out-of-form batter Rohit Sharma. Sharma has scored just 31 runs in the series with a woeful average of 6.20. Not only that, he gathered 164 runs in the last 15 innings with an average of 10.93. Even if Gambhir denied to clarify Rohit's inclusion, he said, "The only thing that keeps you in the dressing room is performance." In case Rohit is set aside, Jasprit Bumrah will walk in as the captain in Sydney.
