Despite personal chefs not being allowed, star Indian batter Virat Kohli has managed to get his desired food nutrition in Dubai. In a recent report from the Times of India, the former Indian captain received his lunch in several packets after the net session in Dubai. This was a follow-up response after Virat Kohli had an intense discussion sharing extremely minute details of his food habits with the assigned local team manager in Dubai. The reports from the Times of India says, "It had had few boxes of Kohli's post-session meal. While the others packed their kit bags, Kohli was refueling and even saved a box for the road." Notably, the entire system of the Indian cricket team has changed after the frustrating Border Gavaskar series defeat in Australia. Following that, the BCCI members sat for a meeting where a 10-point diktat was reportedly announced endorsing several restrictions that include personal stuff and family. That means personal chefs, stylists, nannies, and even public relations managers are all restricted. Despite that, reports suggested that several players pleaded to let families accompany them, but BCCI denied. However, a star player had managed to get BCCI to pay for their extra luggage, despite the diktat's restrictions. This policy impacts both players and support staff. India's head coach, Gautam Gambhir, was required to stay at a separate hotel after having his personal assistant accompany him. The new regulations have also led to veteran players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Ravindra Jadeja returning to Ranji Trophy cricket, though their stints were not very successful. The BCCI’s push for domestic cricket is evident through these changes. During India’s first nets session in Dubai, Kohli and Rohit faced pace bowlers Mohammed Shami and Arshdeep Singh, while Hardik Pandya and Shreyas Iyer impressed with aggressive batting. Team India will begin their Champions Trophy campaign on February 20 against Bangladesh, followed by a high-profile match against Pakistan on February 23, all in Dubai.
