Recently, BCCI has legalized signing replacements for the remainder of the IPL 2025, mentioning that the signings won't continue in the next season. In such a scenario, Delhi Capitals signed Mustafizur Rahman in place of Jake Fraser-McGurk. While Rahman has already departed for India, questions have risen about him joining the league without having a no-objection certificate. Usually, players who have NOCs are only allowed to get signed in the IPL. In that case, as per the Bangladesh Cricket Board CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury, the pacer hasn't even requested the board for one despite being assigned national duty. He said, "Mustafizur is supposed to go with the team to the UAE according to the schedule. We have not received any communication from IPL officials. I have also not received any such official communication from Mustafizur either." Read also: Virat Kohli's Test Retirement Wasn’t Voluntary? Claims Report Fizz's club vs country clash Delhi Capitals have signed Mustafizur Rahman, popularly known as Fizz, as a temporary replacement for Jake Fraser-McGurk, who has withdrawn from IPL 2025 due to personal reasons. The left-arm pacer returns to DC after two years, having previously played for them in 2022 and 2023. Signed at INR 6 crore, Mustafizur won’t be eligible for retention under the new replacement rule. Notably, Bangladesh will be playing consecutive T20I series against UAE and Pakistan and Rahman is a part of the designated squad. Bangladesh are scheduled to play two T20Is in the UAE on May 17 and 19, followed by a five-match T20I series in Pakistan on May 25, 27, 30, June 1 and 3. These fixtures directly overlap with the IPL calendar. Delhi Capitals, for instance, are slated to play their final three league games on May 18, 21, and 24, with the possibility of playoff matches beyond that if they qualify. This clash in schedules raises concerns over player availability for both commitments, particularly for those representing Bangladesh and also participating in the IPL.
