Young allrounder Nitish Kumar Reddy made his Test debut against Australia, Down Under in first match of BGT 2024-25, and he impressed with his mature and gutsy knock of 41 runs in the first inning. It was quite a special knock from him as he helped India to get 150 on the board. On the note, Nitish feels it was not a dream inning, but it was a good start to his Test career. Here is what Nitish said in the press conference "It was a good start. It's not a dream innings but it was a good start," India batted first on the challenging surface of Perth, and India could not get hold of the conditions, hence ending up giving quick wickets, but Rishabh Pant and Nitish worked hard for India to get 150 on the board. Both shared a very valuable partnership and counter the Australian bowlers. After Rishabh Pant got out, it was only Nitish Reddy who played really well. He never let the veteran spinner set; he played some brilliant shorts to him. Reddy also praised Jasprit Bumrah, who is currently leading the side in place of Rohit Sharma, and appreciated the strategic decisions made during the game. "He's very good. It was my first time playing under Bumrah's captaincy. It's pretty hard to mention about his captaincy, but as of now he's been very good with the change of overs and everything, change of spells. I saw he's very good," Reddy was quoted as saying.
