In a significant development coming from the New Zealand camp, they have announced a strong squad for the upcoming home T20I series against England, which is scheduled to start on Saturday and will consist of three matches followed by the same number of ODIs. Mitchell Santner will resume his leadership duties. Kiwis have some good news this time as their star left-hand batter, Rachin Ravindra, is set to return in the T20I series against England after missing the last series against Australia. He was ruled out of the Australia T20I series with a facial injury that he sustained during the practice session. Ben Sears, who sustained a hamstring injury last week, has been ruled out of this series, along with Kane Williamson. While Sears will miss the entire series, Williamson will return for the ODI leg. As quoted by Cricbuzz, Rob Walter said: "Kane had to overcome a minor medical issue in the past month, and we agreed he needs some more time to get himself physically ready to return. He's obviously a world class player and we're hoping these two weeks will ensure he's ready for the ODIs against England and the following tour by West Indies." New Zealand have retained almost a similar squad that faced Australia. Jimmy Neesham has retained his place against England following his performance in the final T20I against Australia, he was announced as a replacement for Rachin Ravindra in the last series. Spinner Ish Sodhi has been dropped from this series, though. Few players were unavailable for selection as Finn Allen (foot), Adam Milne (ankle), Will O'Rourke (back), Glenn Phillips (groin) and Lockie Ferguson (hamstring) are all sidelined with their respective injuries.
