Coming back from the Anderson-Tendulkar Test Series, India's fast bowler gifted himself his "dream" black Toyota Fortuner. But the car landed him in some serious drama, as Akash Deep has been instructed not to drive it, or it will be seized, as the registrations are not complete. The Uttar Pradesh Transport Department issued Akash Deep a notice for using the vehicle without the High Security Registration Plate (HSRP). The Chinhat-based M/s Sunny Motors, from whom Akash bought the car, has been suspended for a month for delivering vehicles without proper registration. The dealer has also been given 14 days to give an explanation. Even though Akash Deep did not face any direct problems, the dealer has been showcased for not having the HSRP plate on the car before selling it. M/s Sunny Motors, Chinhat (Trade Certificate No. UP32TC0664A-E), which allegedly delivered a new Toyota Fortuner to buyer Akashdeep Singh without completing mandatory registration and without installing the High-Security Registration Plate (HSRP) or the Third Registration Mark, has violated Rule 44 of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989. As per records from the ARTO Lucknow and the VAHAN portal, the sale invoice was issued on 7 August 2025, and insurance was finalized on 8 August 2025. However, the road tax remained unpaid, and registration was incomplete. Despite this, the vehicle was reportedly in public use. The dealer has been issued a notice, granting 14 days to present a valid legal explanation or face cancellation of the trade certificate. Meanwhile, Akashdeep Singh has received a Vehicle Use Prohibition Notice under Sections 39, 41(6), and 207 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, prohibiting use of the vehicle until registration, HSRP, and valid insurance are in place. Authorities warn that violations will lead to seizure and prosecution.
